Clock designed for the exhibition organized by ELLE Déco Lab and IKEA, In The Mood For IKEA.
The clock is composed of fabric stretched out into a three dimensional funnel figure, referencing the warped fabric of space-time from Einstein’s theories of relativity.
The clock face is composed of 12 sections of fabric, which, because of its tightly repeating pattern and the sections’ spiral overlay, gives the impression of turning or vibrating.
The superposition of the hour and minute hands above the geometric pattern ads a new dimension of effort to reading the time, evoking the relative experience of time itself.
